According to ClinicalTrials.gov, there are approximately 2,000 clinical trials recruiting participants or underway in the United States focused on pediatric health care. These critical research projects evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new medicines, vaccines, medical devices and other medical interventions. For many patients, including children and adolescents, clinical trials include the latest and most innovative treatments that may not yet be widely available.
NAPNAP conducted a knowledge assessment about pediatric clinical trials. The findings guided expert researchers to develop three microlearning segments to better inform APRNs caring for children.
