Specialty Symposium: Pediatric Orthopedics

NAPNAP and its Pediatric Orthopedic Special Interest Group will host Management of Musculoskeletal Conditions in the Pediatric Population specialty symposium on Aug. 10-11, 2019, at Hyatt Place Boca Raton, in beautiful Boca Raton, Fla. 

Course Description

Presented by: Carrie Chan, CPNP; Raymond Kleposki, MSN, CPNP; Jessica Staschak, MSN, CPNP-PC; Colleen Story, NP; Erica Zepeda, CPNP; Gerad Montgomery, MSN, FNP-C; Chuck Wyatt, CPNP and Jenny Weiner, CPNP-AC/PC 

This symposium focuses on a broad range of pediatric orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions including sports injuries, fractures, and upper and lower extremity injuries and conditions. Speakers will discuss pediatric hip conditions, pediatric spine conditions, back pain and scoliosis. Other symposium subjects include pain management, vitamin D deficiency, hand injuries and conditions, as well as musculoskeletal infections. Finally, the participants will be able to practice upper and lower extremity splinting on live models.

CE: 11.0 contact hours, 0.5 pharmacology contact hour. 


Registration Fees: NAPNAP preferred member - $200; NAPNAP essentials member or nonmember- $250. All rates will increase $20 after July 20, 2019, so register early to save.

This two day symposium will be held on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon with breakfast provided both days.

  • Noon–1 p.m.—Non-CE Lunch presentation "Beyond the Bone: Recognizing the Common Signs of Uncommon Disorders", sponsored by Biomarin Pharmaceutical
  • 1-1:30 p.m.—Break with exhibitors
  • 1:30–4:50 p.m.—Breakout hands-on sessions on splinting, hip exam, knee exam, ankle exam and shoulder and elbow exams

Boca Raton, familiarly known to locals by its first name "Boca," truly has it all. With its Spanish-Mediterranean architecture and beautiful landscaping, Downtown Boca is a lovely place to explore. Take a stroll along the Sanborn Promenade, discover secluded fountains and sitting areas in Royal Palm Place, meander through Mizner Park or enjoy the scenery in Sanborn Square.

There are nearly 100 restaurants in Boca featuring cuisines from around the world. Once the sun goes down, head out to experience Downtown Boca's vibrant nightlife scene. The downtown district's many shopping areas are anchored by Mizner Park and Royal Palm Place, so take a stroll and visit and visit all of our popular retail hot spots. Visit Town Center at Boca Raton for high-end stores and boutiques.

A trip to the Sunshine State wouldn't be complete without sand between your toes so plan an extra day or two to enjoy the two miles of beaches in Boca or explore the near by coastal towns and beaches. Boca Raton is also a haven for tennis players and golfers!

Refund Policy

We will refund your registration fees if we receive your cancellation in writing via mail, fax or email before Aug. 3, 2019. We cannot accept telephone cancellations. A $30 administrative fee will apply to all refunds.

Cancellation Policy

If NAPNAP finds it necessary to cancel this event for any reason including, but not limited to, registration responses, strikes or acts of God, liability shall be limited to a full refund of registration fees. Notification of a canceled event will be sent at least 10 days prior to the conference starting date, when possible. Registration refund will be processed within 15 days after event date.
