Pediatric Dermatology Course Description

Presented by: Judith O’Haver, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC, FAANP, FAAN, Samantha Casselman, DNP, RN, CPNP-PC and Krystal Jones, MD

The dermatology day of this symposium will cover how to diagnose rashes and provide an overview of the AAD (atopic dermatitis guidelines). Through case studies, participants will learn about bacterial, fungal and viral infections and how they present on the skin of children. Our experts will discuss the latest acne guidelines and prescribing in primary care and will help you to understand at risk ingredients in over-the-counter skin care products and how to counsel your patients.

Pediatric Pharmacology Course Description

Presented by Teri Moser Woo, PhD, CPNP-PC, CNL, FAANP

All prescribing NPs will benefit from this inclusive update and review of new information from the FDA related to prescribing for children. This day of fast paced, practice-based pharmacology will include a review of current treatment guidelines for common pediatric conditions that require a medication to be prescribed. Our expert faculty, Dr. Teri Moser Woo, will lead an extensive review and provide an improved understanding of therapeutic benefits and risks, including efficacy, safety and prescribing recommendations with individual presentations related to respiratory, GI, immunizations, antibiotics, psychotropics and nutraceuticals used with children.

CE: 14.0 Contact Hours, 7.0 pharmacology, 1.0 psychopharmacology

This two day symposium will be held on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with breakfast provided both days.

Cost

Two-day registration fees: NAPNAP preferred member - $325; NAPNAP essentials member or nonmember- $375. 

You can opt to register for Saturday OR Sunday ONLY. One day registration fees: NAPNAP preferred member - $175; NAPNAP essentials member or nonmember- $225 before Sept. 13, 2019.

Getting to Boston

United Airlines extends a discount to symposium participants traveling between Oct. 1-10, 2019, to Boston. Book online at www.united.com. Be sure to use the All search option in the book travel section so that you can enter code ZGXN539666 in the promotions and certificates box at the bottom of the page to receive the discount. You cannot use the code once in the payment section. The discount code cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts.

If you are arriving by Amtrak, get off at Back Bay station. The hotel is about four city blocks from the train station, so around 10-15 minutes with luggage. Turn right out of Back Bay Station onto Dartmouth Street. Walk to Stuart and turn right to walk three city blocks to Arlington. You'll see the hotel on the left.

Things to Do

Boston, especially in the early fall, is a spectacular city to explore on foot. Visit State House or see history come to life by walking the Freedom Trail. One of the most popular Boston attractions is Boston Common, a short walk from Boston Park Plaza hotel. As the oldest park in the country, established in 1634, Boston Common is filled with landmarks and hosts many events throughout the year. The Public Garden is adjacent to Boston Common and is home to Boston's famous Swan Boats, which have been delighting visitors since 1877 and have become an icon of the city. Enjoy the official historical of world-famous Harvard University with a student-led public walking tour through Harvard Yard.

Boston is a sports town. Check professional and college team websites for opportunities to see baseball (playoffs), football, rowing/crewing and/or hockey.

If you're a foodie, Boston offers a wide variety of cuisines to tempt you. Visit North End to experience Boston's "Little Italy" neighborhood and sample cannoli from different bakeries vying to serve the best in the city.

Refund Policy

We will refund your registration fees if we receive your cancellation in writing via mail, fax or email before Sept. 27, 2019. We cannot accept telephone cancellations. A $30 administrative fee will apply to all refunds.

Cancellation Policy

If NAPNAP finds it necessary to cancel this event for any reason including, but not limited to, registration responses, strikes or acts of God, liability shall be limited to a full refund of registration fees. Notification of a cancelled event will be sent at least 10 days prior to the conference starting date, when possible. Registration refund will be processed within 15 days after event date.
