2025 Sun Safety Campaign

This summer, social media has seen an influx of content, typically catered to and shared by teenagers, encouraging tanning when the UV index is high. Pediatric health care experts know that tanning when the UV index is high or extreme can increase risk of skin cancers and premature aging of the skin.

In an effort to combat the misinformation being spread about the UV index and sun safety, NAPNAP’s Dermatology SIG has developed the below resources for use on social media. These resources are free to download, and we encourage you to get teens involved in sharing this information!

  • Enhance member engagement by surveying SIG members to assess the group’s interest in engagement opportunities, collaboration with Asthma and Allergy SIG for combined journal club or other activities and participation in the SIG Showcase and the SIG business meeting at the NAPNAP conference.
  • Advertise SIG membership to maintain current membership numbers by sharing dermatology education with all NAPNAP members on Open Forum communications about our SIG benefits. Additionally, promote Dermatology Clinical PEARLS at the SIG showcase.
  • Post to SIG members once a month to regularly communicate dermatology educational opportunities both in the SIG e-community and via email. Additionally, provide Dermatology Educational PEARLS – two educational sessions every six months.
