In accordance with the strategic plan adopted by the Executive Board for 2024-27, NAPNAP is launching a major new program called NAPNAP Global Initiatives. Its primary purpose is to optimize child health by expanding and diversifying the organization’s education courses and resources for pediatric nurses and other health care providers beyond U.S. borders. To develop and implement the program, NAPNAP will work in partnership with TruMerit (formerly CGFNS International), which has decades of experience in supporting health care workforce development on a global scale. The research-and-development phase of NAPNAP Global Initiatives is funded by NAPNAP and a gift from the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB).
“This is a bold strategy that is driven by NAPNAP’s 50 years of experience in providing high quality education to pediatric nurse practitioners,” said James H. Wendorf, NAPNAP’s executive director. “This new venture will leverage our expertise to develop and deliver new education content for new audiences. Our partnership with TruMerit will bring their expertise in assessment and credentialing, as well as their extensive global relationships with health care professionals and organizations.”
The global venture is an investment in NAPNAP’s future, leading to expanded audiences, education, advocacy and child health impact. It also provides a glide path to an even stronger NAPNAP, with increased community building, fee-based services and corporate and philanthropic funding. PNCB’s gift provides critical support to help NAPNAP achieve these goals.
