LGBTQ+ Resources

Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth

The overall goal in caring for all youth, including those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, gender non-conforming, transgender or questioning (LGBTQ) is to promote adolescent development, social and emotional well-being, physical health, and reduce any associated physical and mental health risks. Many LGBTQ+ youth are exposed to social stigma, discrimination, prejudice and victimization during adolescence that have long-term impacts. The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners strives to be an advocate for LGBTQ+ youth and supports equitable, accessible, evidence-based health care for patients and their families.
