The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) is pleased to announce an opportunity for a NAPNAP member to serve as the associate editor to the Journal of Pediatric Health Care (JPHC). The associate editor of JPHC is responsible for all content published in the department sections and association submissions of the journal. This includes the recruitment, selection and coordination of all the activities of the department editors. Coordination between NAPNAP and the editor-in-chief to ensure appropriate content is included.

The associate editor assists the editor-in-chief in the development of all policies and procedures, including advertising. The associate editor also assists in the development of the agenda, preparation of an annual report, and serves as secretary at the editorial board meeting. Likewise, the same is done for the annual editorial board/department editor meeting at the annual NAPNAP national conference.

Overall, the associate editor is jointly responsible with the editor-in-chief for implementing the editorial policy of JPHC in conjunction with the editorial advisory board and with policies established by NAPNAP and the publisher. The associate editor is selected by the NAPNAP Executive Committee in consultation with the executive director.

We are seeking self-nominations for the JPHC associate editor position. To be eligible, the applicant must have the following required qualifications:

  • NAPNAP member in good standing.
  • Earned doctoral degree in nursing (PhD or DNP).
  • 5+ years as a pediatric-focused advanced practice registered nurse in practice, research and/or education.
  • Excellent oral, written and electronic communication skills.
  • Strong record of publication in peer-reviewed outlets.
  • Prior experience serving as peer reviewer.

The deadline to apply is Aug. 31. We anticipate conducting interviews in mid-Sept. 2022 and sharing final notifications with candidates by the end of Sept. 2022. Learn more about this exciting opportunity and apply.
