We want to wish our entire pediatric-focused nurse practitioner community and nursing colleagues a happy National Nurses Week. Nursing remains the most trusted profession in the country thanks to your expertise and compassion.
The COVID-19 pandemic has tremendously impacted health care professionals, especially nurses and nurse practitioners, for more than a year. To better understand our members’ challenges, NAPNAP President Jessica Peck, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, CNE, CNL, FAANP, FAAN and Secretary Jennifer Sonney, PHD, APRN, PPCNP-BC, FAANP, conducted a study to determine the unique and sustained effects of COVID-19 on pediatric-focused APRNs. Watch the video below to preview their findings which will be published in Journal of Pediatric Health Care in the near future.
In the months to come, you will learn more about our COVID-19 Response Taskforce and its advocacy and resource development efforts to support the critical needs of the pediatric-focused APRN workforce. You will also learn more about our very special in-person event, Reconnect & Rediscover: A Convening of Pediatric Experts and Advocates, which will focus on self-care and resiliency.
We celebrate National Nurses Week in your honor. Thank you for all that you do for your patients, students and community. You are truly an expert in pediatrics and an advocate for children.
