Effective Aug. 5, 2026, Linda Young has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) following the retirement of James Wendorf after six years of dedicated service and lasting contributions to the organization.

Linda will continue to serve in her current role as Chief Financial and Operating Officer while assuming the responsibilities of Interim Chief Executive Officer during this leadership transition. Linda brings more than a decade of dedicated service to NAPNAP and possesses an exceptional understanding of our organization, members, strategic priorities and operations. Throughout her tenure, she has demonstrated outstanding financial stewardship, operational excellence, collaborative leadership and an unwavering commitment to NAPNAP’s mission.

The Executive Board has complete confidence in Linda’s ability to lead the organization during this transition. Her experience, institutional knowledge, and steady leadership will provide continuity and stability as we continue advancing the important work of serving pediatric nurse practitioners and our fellow APRNs caring for children, optimizing the health and well-being of all children, and empowering and expanding our community of pediatric experts.

Over the coming months, NAPNAP’s CEO search committee will be working with a national firm to conduct a thoughtful and comprehensive national search for our next Chief Executive Officer. We are committed to a deliberate process that positions the organization for continued success while maintaining transparency and strong governance.
