Acute Care SIG

The Acute Care PNP Special Interest Group (AC SIG) was established to provide a forum for the promotion of nurse practitioners and other advanced practice nurses functioning in pediatric acute and critical care roles and providing care to children in these settings. With more APRNs practicing in more settings and with more acutely ill children being managed by these practitioners, this SIG seeks to provide diverse educational opportunities, leadership, mentorship, and guidance for APRNs practicing in pediatric acute care.

The goals of the Acute Care SIG include providing a vision of the evolving role of acute care pediatric APRNs in the rapidly changing health care environment as well as advocating for professional issues surrounding the Acute Care Pediatric APRN roles.

Members of the Acute Care SIG, please join our active discussion thread in NAPNAP's online community, TeamPeds: Member Network, where APRNs practicing in pediatric acute care settings discuss professional issues, practice opportunities, education, leadership, and research, among other issues that affect our roles within the healthcare system.

Children in Disasters flyer - As a collaborative effort between the Acute Care SIG and the Children in Disasters SIG and in light of the many disasters that have struck our nation in 2017, this resource flyer of disaster preparedness information was compiled for health care professionals caring for pediatric patients and their families in all settings.
