41st National Conference on Pediatric Health Care Canceled

41st National Conference on Pediatric Health Care Canceled

The NAPNAP Executive Board has been closely monitoring the impact of COVID-19 on the healthcare community, as well as recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and updates from Long Beach’s local health officials and city leaders during the last few weeks. After carefully considering the emerging evidence as well as our responsibility to our conference participants and the local communities they serve, we are no longer able to host the high quality conference that our participants and exhibitors have come to expect from The Leader in Pediatric Education for Nurse Practitioners®. Preparing for our national conference involves the time, talent and creativity of many of our volunteer leaders, speakers, staff, exhibitors and partners. We’re incredibly grateful for their dedication and support and are truly disappointed that we cannot host this year’s conference as planned.

We will follow our strategic plan by leveraging innovative technologies to explore options that deliver as many of our planned high quality, evidence-based conference sessions as possible via a virtual conference platform later this spring or summer. We are actively seeking a more immediate opportunity to share valuable certification review course content with those who registered in preparation for upcoming certification exams. Our goal is to find innovative and cost-effective solutions to provide our conference participants with an engaging online experience that incorporates many of the components that make our conference so successful. We will continue to update all 2020 conference participants and NAPNAP members on our plans through our website and digital communications.

We will be in contact with conference registrants and exhibit partners with specific information in the next three weeks regarding cancellation transactions. You do not need to contact the national office to submit written cancellation requests per our standard policy from this point forward. For those whose cancellation requests were previously processed, our staff team will be refunding the $50 cancellation fee in the coming weeks. No registrant will be assessed any event cancellation fees.

Thank you for your patience and understanding over the last few intense days as the Executive Board and staff analyzed evolving data and information so that we could make the best possible informed decision. The safety and well-being of our conference participants and staff, as well as their families, colleagues and pediatric patients they care for has always been our priority.
