Dr. Loretta Ford inducted into the Women's Hall of Fame

On Saturday, October 1, 2011, Dr. Loretta Ford, the co-founder of the Nurse Practitioner movement was inducted into the Women's Hall of Fame. Dr. Ford was gracious for the recognition and humbly accepted by stating "I'm pretty proud of them. I get a lot of credit for 140,000 nurses and I don't deserve it. "They're the ones who fought the good fight. They took the heat and they stood it and they've done beautifully." The ceremony took place in Seneca Falls, NY with many supporters in attendance. Among the attendees were Jean Martin, PhD, CPNP, Past President of NAPNAP and Susan Van Cleve, DNP, CPNP-PC, NAPNAP President-Elect.
