CHERRY HILL, NJ – Pediatric nurses and other health care providers will learn about the most urgent issues and clinical advances germane to their practice at the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners’ (NAPNAP) 31st Annual Conference on Pediatric Health Care, slated for April 15-18, 2010, in Chicago, IL.
The conference is respected industry-wide as the leading education event for pediatric health care providers who practice at all levels and settings. Over 1,300 pediatric nurse practitioners (PNPs) and other professionals who work in this arena are expected to attend. Sessions will be taught by leading experts in tracks that include Mental Health, Emerging Science, and Professional Issues, with additional courses in Pharmacology and Acute Care.
Concurrent and plenary sessions, as well as several intensive workshops, will run from April 15-18 and cover such areas as eating disorders, child physical abuse, pediatric complementary and alternative medicine, and cognitive function deficits.
“We are particularly excited about our speakers this year, including the opening keynote,” said NAPNAP President Michelle Beauchesne, DNSc, RN, CPNP, FNAP, FAANP. “A Boston teenager will describe her perception of racial and ethnic health disparities, and then Cynthia Barnes-Boyd, a social/cultural researcher from Chicago, will discuss ways pediatric health care providers can help eliminate disparities for minorities, women and children. It truly will be a groundbreaking presentation.”
During the conference, participants will earn continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours, attend special events, and network with colleagues. They will also meet with the industry’s most innovative exhibitors who represent leading pharmaceutical and consumer products companies, as well as nonprofit institutions.
PNPs are health care providers dedicated to serving well and ill children of all ages. PNPs have advanced education and care for children and families in an extensive range of practice settings. As highly-trained and respected professionals, PNPs have worked with pediatricians and other health care providers to enhance children’s health for over 40 years.
