Q: Does NAPNAP Have A Toll-Free Phone Number?

Q: Why haven't I received my journal?

A: NAPNAP members receive the Journal of Pediatric Health Care, published by Elsevier, as a membership benefit. A subscription is ordered once NAPNAP processes your membership. Your subscription should begin just a few weeks later, depending on the publication date of the next issue. If you're experiencing a delay, please contact the National Office.

 

Q:  Do I need to contact the national office to change my address?

A: You can update your member profile whenever you'd like online. Simply log-in and select Account. When you are finished click the Update Information button at the bottom of the screen. You're always welcome to notify us of your change of address and we can update your record for you. Please send an e-mail to ldevault@napnap.org. Include your full name, old address, new address, new phone, and e-mail address. You can also call the national office at 877/662-7627 or you can send mail to us at 20 Brace Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.

 

Q: Can NAPNAP answer my questions related to PNP Practice Issues?

A: NAPNAP offers blogs and eGroups where members can ask and answer practice or professional questions through the NAPNAP Community. To access the Community , log into the member's only section of the NAPNAP website. Select the Community Profile link and choose either Groups and Networks or Blogs.

 

Q. What is the rate for the new Doctoral Student membership category and when will it be effective?

A: The new rate is $85 and it will be effective July 1, 2010.

 

Q. Who is eligible for the new Doctoral Student membership category?
A:
The reduced rate is available to Professional NPs, already eligible for active NAPNAP membership, currently enrolled in any doctoral program.

 

Q. What benefits are included with this new membership category?

A: All benefits of NAPNAP membership except voting rights are included. Doctoral Student status is limited to two consecutive years. For a complete list of benefits visit: http://www.napnap.org/MemberCenter/MemberBenefits.aspx

Q. Can I take advantage of this new rate if I have already renewed?
A:
If you meet the requirements for Doctoral Student and your renewal date is in July 2010 but you have paid your 2010 dues early (in the months of May or June) you may be eligible for a credit. Contact the National Office at students@napnap.org or 1-877-662-7627 for additional details.

 

Q. Are NAPNAP Executive Board members eligible for this new rate?

A: No. NAPNAP Executive Board members are required to join/renew at full membership rates.

 

Q. How much of my dues will be applied towards my Chapter membership?

A: Doctoral Students are handled the same way as Students - $15 per doctoral student member will be forwarded to the Chapter treasury each month.

 

Q. Can Doctoral Students vote in the annual NAPNAP Election?
A:
No. Voting at the National level is not permitted for Doctoral Students; however, the member may vote at the Chapter level pending the bylaws of the Chapter.

 

Q. If I am a Doctoral Student do I have to take the new rate even if I choose not to?
A:
No. You may join at the regular membership rate to maintain all of your benefits and privileges.

 

Q. Are Doctoral Students eligible for the NAPNAP Student Conference rate?

A: Yes doctoral students may register for the NAPNAP Annual Conference at the student rate.

Q.  I plan to go back to school for my doctorate this year. Can I apply for the doctoral student rate even though I am currently not enrolled in a program?
A:
No. You must be enrolled in a doctoral program at the time you apply or renew your membership.

 

Q.  Can I renew at the New Graduate rate after I complete my doctoral program?
A:
You may use the new graduate rate once after completing your first NP program. If you have taken advantage of the new graduate rate previously, you must renew at the regular membership rate.

 

Q.  Is this new membership status available to only DNP students?
A:
No. This membership status is available to anyone enrolled in a doctoral nursing program (i.e., PhD, EdD, DNSc, DNS and others)
